Marie Sandvik Center
The Marie Sandvik Center meets the material and spiritual needs of the poor living in the inner city of Minneapolis. The mission is supported solely by churches and private donations, not the government. Vonheim members provide both food and financial assistance to support the center. In addition, there are always volunteer opportunities available.
Each year Vonheim members go out to a local shopping center to ring bells for Salvation Army
Vonheim has partnered with a local school to provide programming of Scandinavian heritage, such as having the Viking Age Club present a factual program on the Vikings. We have had workshops that taught children about various crafts. We are looking for a coordinator to continue our involvement in this program.
