A video was shown called "A Norway Passage: The Most Beautiful Voyage" about the 1100 mile coastal voyage that is taken from Bergen to Kirkenes, Norway by the Hurtigruten passenger and freight ships with daily departures. The Norwegian coast is one of the most picturesque in the world with its beatiful fjords, mountains and unique cities. This journey is one of those things that should rank high among those who wish to experience Norway.
Information about the voyage and onlime streaming of the video are at Hurtigruten website.

Merle Tingelstad presented information on the International Summer School Program (ISS) through the University of Oslo in Oslo, Norway. This is a 6 week summer program for college credit where students choose from a variety of class offerings that relate to the culture of Norway and its position in world leadership.
Merle Tingelstad's son, Erik, participated in the ISS program during the summer of 2012. It is a life changing experience. Erik roomed with a student from Belgium. As part of his classes, he toured extensively in the area of Oslo. He also went on optional excursions to Hallingdal area and Bergen areas. Scholarships are available through the ISS program office in St. Olaf College and through Sons of Norway. Even without scholarships, this was shown to be a cost-effective way to gain college credits, actually lower than the net room and board cost per college credit Erik is paying at Luther College.
Erik joined the presentation from Luther College in a video conference call to answer questions about his experience. The presentation can be downloaded at ISS Prgram.
